A few weeks ago a small team from Banabio attended the Fruit Logistica in Berlin. There we could gain, once again, an excellent overview of the fresh market.
Maybe; after the arrival of the Internet, we all imagined that these kinds of events would have almost no importance. However the numbers of exhibitors and visitors that come yearly to the Fruit Logistica clearly point to the opposite. Around 3077 exhibitors and 76000 visitors attend this trade fair every year. In 1993 only 110 exhibitors and 1014 visitors took part in this international fresh produce trade.
Furthermore; in the upcoming years, trade shows will have an even a bigger impact on business relationships, as the Internet of things (IOT) evolves. Everything links with everything else, so nowadays it is already easier to get the most from these events without effort. Almost all of us carry a Smart phone in our pocket, so we can automatically receive customer´s data contact, conference alerts, GPS directions to reach meetings or make audience polling responses.
The Fruit Logistica in Berlin brings together the whole fresh producing industry worldwide. Therefore everyone can gain knowledge and exposure to new trends.
But in Fruit Logistica, not only can you go to an exhibition, but also take part in a huge range of conferences. Some of them under such appealing titles as: “Let there be light – new sustainable label and packaging solutions” or “The digital dividend – Big data will yield big results for the Food Industry”. These kinds of free sessions stimulate new ideas and creative ways to support our banana business. Fruit Logistic Berlin allows us how to keep up to date in the world of bananas.
It is also to highlights the unique venue that Fruit Logistica provides us to connect with people with common interests (customers, providers…). The trade show allows us to establish immediate and easy communication with most of our stakeholders.
The figure shown below also clarify the massive influence of the Fruit Logistica Berlin:
